Munya Chitambo

Munya is an accounting professional with eight years of experience in nonprofit accounting. Originally from Zimbabwe, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Strayer University. His career began at Free the Slaves, an organization dedicated to eradicating modern slavery by supporting survivor rehabilitation, advocating for policy change, and strengthening community resilience. Over eight years, he advanced from an intern to a key finance team member, managing financial reporting, grant compliance, budgeting, and streamlining accounting processes to support the organization’s mission.

Munya strives to apply his financial expertise to drive impact in mission-driven organizations. Beyond work, he enjoys playing and watching soccer, basketball, listening to music, live comedy shows, and spending time with friends and family.
