Julian Oram leads Mighty Earth’s policy efforts. Julian has more than two decades of experience working on environmental and international development issues, specializing in sustainable agricultural production and supply chains. Julian has held senior policy and campaigns roles within the non-profit sector, including at Global Witness, where he led the Land Rights team, as well as Greenpeace International, where he served as Senior Political Advisor on agriculture. Julian previously worked as Head of Policy and Campaigns at the World Development Movement in the UK, as well as leading the Right to Food team at ActionAid UK. Julian has also worked in a consultancy capacity for a number of not-for-profit organizations in Europe, Africa and the USA.
Julian holds a BA in Geography with International Development Studies from the University of Sussex, and a Masters degree in Environmental Policy from Imperial College, University of London. His PhD, awarded in 2005 from University College, Cork, Ireland, analyzed the impacts of globalization on rural livelihoods in the Philippines. Julian is based in London, UK.
