Heidi Overbeck is Vice President of Grants at the Colorado Trust, working to make positive changes for people and communities.

She previously served as chief strategy officer at the Gill Foundation, where she led the programs and communications teams in setting and executing against foundation priorities and identifying breakthrough investment opportunities to secure full equality for LGBT Americans.

Earlier, Heidi was a vice president at BerlinRosen, one of the nation’s leading social impact and issue advocacy PR firms, where she served as a senior communications strategist to movement leaders on LGBT rights, women’s rights, immigrant rights, and public health. Her prior experience includes leading national communications campaigns at Fenton, directing voter outreach for U.S. Congresswoman Chellie Pingree, serving as a legislative aide in Maine’s state legislature, and running the preservation program at Environment Maine.

Heidi serves on the board of the Movement Advancement Project and previously served on the boards of the Women’s Information Network of New York City, Emerge New Jersey, and Emerge Maine. She was also selected to be a creative writing mentor with Girls Write Now, a New York City nonprofit supporting underserved high school girls in finding their voices and sharing their stories through creative writing.

Heidi graduated magna cum laude from Colorado College, where she earned a degree in English with an emphasis in creative writing. Born and raised in Colorado’s Roaring Fork Valley, Heidi now lives in Denver with her family.
