Bibiana Alcântara Garrido

Bibiana Alcântara Garrido is Mighty Earth’s senior communications associate in Brazil. A journalist with 10 years of experience, she holds a degree in journalism and a master’s degree in communications from the São Paulo State University (Unesp). She is now specializing in Climate Emergencies at the University of São Paulo (USP).

From her wide range of experience across sectors, including time working at advertising agencies, newspapers and NGOs, Bibiana has developed a strong focus on climate and environmental issues within civil society. Before joining Mighty Earth, she served as a communications specialist at the Amazon Environmental Research Institute (IPAM), one of the largest Brazilian organizations in the field.

Bibiana lives in Brasília, has a female black cat named Dandara, and has followed a vegan lifestyle since 2014.
